Hokkaido continues to symbolize the nature beauty with many nice national parks. For a lot of visitors, the surroundings seem like northern Europe, with concrete warrens and rice paddies typical of the rest of Japan changed by rolling fields and Faux-German styled cottages. There is a tunnel named Seikan Tunnel, which is world’s longest rail tunnel, is the one land link that Hokkaido has to Japan’s foremost island of Honshu.
