Kobe is the capital City of Hyogo Prefecture and certainly one of Japan’s ten largest cities. Kobe has been a vital port metropolis for a lot of centuries. Now fully rebuilt after the horrible earthquake of 1995, Kobe’s dramatic location, sandwiched on a slim strip of land between the sea and great mountains, allied to its nice food and vigorous nightlife make the town a super place to go if you’re visiting close by Osaka or Kyoto.
1. Go Kobe from Osaka
By Train:
Take JR Special Rapid Service from Osaka station Departure track No.5 to Kobe this will take approximately 30 min and cost 420yen.
By Bus:
Take HAMAKAZE 5 from Osaka bus terminal Departure track No.4 to Kobe this will take 25 min and cost around 420 yen.
2. Go Kobe from Kyoto
By Train:
Take JR Special Rapid Service from Kyoto station to Osaka this will take 28 min and then take another JR Special Rapid Service to Kobe this will take 25 min and the total cost will be 1100yen.
By Fast Train:
Take SHINKANSEN HIKARI 473 from Kyoto station to Akashi this will take 90 min and then take JR Special Rapid Service to Kobe this will take 15 min and the total cost will be 1080 yen.
3. Go Kobe from Yokohama
By Trains:
Take Yokohama City Subway Blue Line from Yokohama to Shin-Yokohama it will cost 240yen and then take fast train SHINKANSEN NOZOMI 45 from Shin to Shin-Osaka this will take 140 min then take JR Kyoto Line Rapid Service for Osaka and take JR Kobe Line Rapid Service to Kobe this will take around 2 hours and cost will be 9000yen.
4. Go Kobe from Shibuya
By Trains:
Take JR Yamanote Line (Inner loop) for OSAKI and then take JR Yamanote Line from Osaki to Shinagawa, and then take Shinkansen Nozomi 239 fast train from Shinagawa to Shin- Osaka and take JR Special Rapid Service to Osaka and finally take JR Special Rapid Service from Osaka to Kobe. It will take 4 hours and cost around 9500yen.
5. Go Kobe from Shinagawa
By Trains:
Take Fast Train Shinkansen Hikari 519 from Shinagawa station to Shin-Osaka this will take 170 min then take JR Special Rapid Service from Shin-Osaka to Osaka and then JR Special Rapid Service from Shin-Osaka to Kobe. The whole journey will cost you around 9400yen.
6. Go Kobe from Nikko
By Trains:
Take JR Nikko Line for Utsunomiya and take fast trains SHINKANSEN YAMABIKO 146 from Utsunomiya to Tokyo and take another Fast train Shinkansen Nozomi 121 from Tokyo Departure Track No.15 to Shin-Osaka and take JR Special Rapid Service to Osaka and finally, take JR Special Rapid Service from Osaka to Kobe. It will take 5 hours and cost around 10500yen.
7. Go Kobe from Hakone
By Trains and Bus:
Take Odakyu Ltd. Exp. Hakone 32 from Hakone to Machida it will take one hour and cost 900yen and then take JR Yokohama Line Local to Shin Yokohama where you will have to take Shinkansen Nozomi 243 Shin-Osaka and take JR Special Rapid Service to Osaka and finally, take JR Special Rapid Service from Osaka to Kobe. It will take 4 hours and cost around 9000yen.
