Fortaleza is the capital of the state of Ceara in Brazil. Fortaleza is the 5th largest city in Brazil with a total land area of 313.8 kilometres squared. The population of Fortaleza is 2,571,896 in the municipality and 3,602, 319 in the metro area.

1. Visit the award-winning Morro Branco

Morro Branco is a great way to get away with the busy city. It is a great place with lovely beaches and amazing falesias. This place has won the award of Traveller’s choice award of 2016 in the entire Fortaleza so it is really a must to come and explore the wonders of Fortaleza in this place.

2. Visit museums

A great and fun way to fall in love with a certain place is to know more about its history and your can do that by visiting one of the famous museums in Fortaleza. The museums that you should visit are Cachaca Museum, Museu de Arte da Universidade Federal do Ceará , Farol Velho, Museu da Indústria and Museu do Ceará.

3. Have a swim at the beaches

Enjoy your visit by having a swim in the fine beaches of Fortaleza but the things that you are able to do there is not just limited to swimming. 6. Visit churches

Visiting churches might be the last thing on your mind while you are on a vacation but doing so in Fortaleza is totally worth it. The churches are ancient and well-preserved with really great history. The churches that you should really visit are Metropolitana Cathedral, Santuario Coracao de Jesus, Pequeno Grande Church, and Federal Railway Joao Felipe.

7. Walk around the parks

A great way to enjoy Fortaleza is walking around the parks and wandering around as you see the fantastic views around the city and that is by visiting the parks around. The parks that you should really visit are Praca Luiza Tavora, Coco Park, Passeio Publico, Praca Dos Stressados, Itaparika Water Park, Eco point Parque, Praca do Ferreira, and Nossa Senhora de Assuncao Fort.

10. Visit Rubens de Azevedo Planetarium

 

Rubens de Azevedo Planetarium is not that big of a planetarium but the interior is really cozy and somewhat close to reality. It is a really great experience to be able to visit the planetarium. It is a really unique way of being able to enjoy Fortaleza too! This place is great for families with little children as well.
