Movies are great, aren’t they? You roll up to the theater with a friend or your significant other and expect to get an experience which you will talk about for days. If you find yourself in Fresno looking for the entertainment, a visit to the local movie theaters might be a good choice. We selected some of the movie theaters you might find interesting and where you can enjoy the latest movies releases or some of the classics.

1. Edwards Fresno Stadium 22 & IMAX

Edwards is the movie theater chain best known for showing 3D films on a giant screen, including blockbusters. The theater is very pleasant and the IMAX theater is impressive. However, this is one of the busiest theaters around. If you don’t mind the crowds, you should definitely check it out.

2. Regal Cinemas Manchester 16

Manchester is a theater complex with multiple screens featuring latest films, plush seating, and concession stand. This is a nice theater in a not so nice location. It seems to attract loud, young people that are not always considerate of others watching the movie. There is a good mixture of movies and the seats are very comfortable, the staff is extremely friendly and the theater is nice and clean. Get there early because there is usually a line during the weekends.

3. United Artists Broadway Faire 10

This is a basic theater with stadium-style seating and snack bar, showing new releases and discounted matinees. This is probably the most quietest of all the Fresno movie theaters. It is in a good location and plays the latest movies. The theater itself is very nice, large, and has plenty of parking space outside. The staff is exceptional. Management has done a terrific job of hiring quality people, including handicapped and middle-aged people of all races and ethnicities. The best thing they applied recently is the addition of closed-captioning glasses. The text is displayed on the inside of the lenses and not on the screen, so you can move your head and still read the audio. It takes 2-3 minutes for the manager to bring these to you in the lobby and this usually gives you a chance to get popcorn. And don’t fail to sign up for a Regal Card. It accumulates points for every purchase and you get a free movie ticket about every three months and either free popcorn or a free small soda at least once a month.

Maya Cinemas has the room equipped with Dolby Atmos audio system. It basically adds a surround sound effect. Nice clean facility. Very comfortable chairs and there is a table at the end of the armrest to put your snacks on. The theaters are kept clean. You have the self-serve soda dispensers. You are able to make your own soda creations. Refillable popcorn. It is not so crowded if you enjoy quietness. Great Theater to bring your family. Pretty high tech and their MPX Screen is enormous.

As Fresno’s first suburban cinema, the Tower Theatre became the powerful vertical landmark and was put on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a great place for a concert, film, or a lecture. Lovely theater interior and very good acoustics for musical programs.
