Napa had become the primary business and economic center for the Napa Valley by the dawn of the 20th century. As wine interests and agriculturally developed north of the city limits, much of the light industry, commercial, banking and retail activity in the county evolved within the city of Napa. Napa County has a lot of movie theaters some famous are mentioned as follows.

1. The Uptown Theatre

Uptown in downtown Napa is very nicely restored the classic theater. The intimate space (900 seats) is the perfect place for live music or movies. Good acoustics, clean, roomy seating, the ceiling artwork is gorgeous and many restaurants within walking distance.

2. Century Napa Valley

This is a really nice, new movie theater in the Napa Valley. The theater has nice leather seats and stadium seating, good quality concessions, and friendly employees. They even have a beautiful little wine bar in the lobby. Use one of the self-service kiosks out front to buy tickets to avoid the long line inside.

3. Napa Valley Opera House

The opera house is a great, quaint venue with the convivial atmosphere and a very great sound. There are a bar and restaurant on the first floor. On the second floor is where the theater floor is. It’s a nice place to see a show. Every seat has a good view.

4. Cameo Cinema

It is a classic theater and is located on Main Street in St. Helena. The theater initially opened on May fifteenth, 1913. Film festivals also hold by this theater. What most visitors (and many residents) overlooks is it is adorable, the movie theater is bit old school but shows recent releases in a charming setting.

5. Jarvis Conservatory

The theaters themselves are very much clean and well kept. The bathrooms are kept clean; the screening rooms are way bigger, more spacious than most of the theaters in the valley, but the prices are what you could expect from any movie theater in these times ($6 small drink, $15 popcorn, $8 box of candy type of prices).

6. El Campanil Theatre

 

This is a really nice and wide movie theater in the Napa Valley. Parking was plentiful and free. Seats are very comfortable and clean. Old world charm in a dilapidated part of downtown Antioch. The sound and screen quality is also very wonderful and pleasant to watch the movie.

7. Empress Theater

The Empress Theater hosts many types of musical and social events round the year. The theater has been beautifully maintained. A stat of the art sound system has been installed. The ticket prices are rarely over $30 and often $15. They also show movies and have other events. Free parking is right across the street.

8. Transcendence Theater

Transcendence Theatre shows are simply awesome the song selections, movies, dramas and dance numbers are so beautiful. The amazing caliber of dancing, singing, and the show moves quickly and flies by. It provides great entertainment for teens as well as adults.

9. Sonoma Cinema

Theater Sonoma has better sound, lighting, and picture and has a large screen. Freezing cold in all theaters, all seasons of the year, bring warm clothing with you. You will notice that there are cheap popcorn and cheaper seats than anywhere else in Sonoma County.

10. Sebastiani Theatre

Sebastiani is this wonderful movie theater, complete with an antique box office, marquis, and old school popcorn/concessions stand. The parking stand is free and wide so no problem in parking your car. This theater was recently hosting the famous Sonoma International Film Festival.
