Nara may not be as popular as Tokyo or Kyoto, and it may not be the place for serious and heavy partying, but it still offers a few nice venues for those who love nightlife. If you just look around a bit, you will find some interesting places to choose from.

1. Karaoke&BAR Sally

Karaoke is extremely popular in Japan, so if you like partying, singing and having fun with your friends then you should definitely visit Sally’s karaoke bar in Nara. 3. Harushika Sake Brewery

You should know that Nara is the birthplace of sake. It dates back to the time when Nara was still the capital of Japan. This popular brewery got its name after the deer you can see freely roaming the grounds of the city park. It is located just a short walk from Kintetsu Nara Station, north of Jurinin Temple. There are almost 50 breweries in Nara and this is probably one of the best places to come for sake tasting. When you come to this premium five course sake tasting, you will be guided through the amazing and sophisticated world of sake.

4. Hot Staff

The name of this bar might make you think it is a completely different kind of place, but it is actually just an ordinary bar/restaurant with an extraordinary name. It is currently one of the most dynamic music places in Nara. When you are in town, you should visit them. You can enjoy different kinds of live music there. Some months are very busy when they organize up to five performances. They offer not only good music and show, but also a great diversity of drinks and food.

5. Juju

If you want to try some teppanyaki grill at modest cost, then Juju is the right place to go to. The bar is located close JR Nara Station down the main shopping street. 6. Lamp Bar

If you are a cocktail lover, you must not miss this gorgeous bar. The bar is all neat and nice and is perfect to come to in the evening after you visit the temples. This is a very small but nice place perfect for those who really want to relax with a glass of some good drink. Bar Fiddich offers wonderful and tasty cocktails as well as some beer on tap. You might have to wait between the two cocktails because the master is also the owner of the bar, but you won’t regret it. You will be extremely pleased by the cocktails made with different seasonal fruits and you will have fun watching the great bar tender as he makes your drink.
