The place to visit is none other than Mount Tsukuba. On those beautiful days with the bright sky, take a hike to the peak and you will get a magical view of the entire Tokyo City Centre. It takes one a 3-hour backpack walk up the hill and a half an hour downhill. You can take a train up and down if you don’t want to climb or down. At the top, there are a few restaurants as well as shops. You can also enjoy the rope way at the top of Mount Tsukuba.

3. Tsukuba Space Centre

Located in Tsukuba Science City in Ibaraki administrative division Tsukuba Space Center is the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s headquarters. Opened in 1972 it serves as the primary location for Japans space operations and research programs where Japanese astronauts involved in the International Space Station are trained. The Space Centre offers tours of the facility as well as an exhibit hall featuring models of the H-11 Transfer Vehicle and a complete packaged mock-up of the KIBO module on the International Space Station.

4. Tsukuba Shrine

It was Founded in the 7th Century; this beautiful shrine is a historic place of worship dedicated to the sacred Mount Tsukuba whose peaks are associated with the god and goddess of Japanese mythology. Also visited by wild birds and seasonal flowers and trees growing freshly on its grounds Tsukuba Shrine is a site to behold especially in the early summer. One of its most famous features, however, is a roofed bridge named Goshinkyo, built in the 17th century by Tokugawa Limits. It’s only during the Gonzaga festival and Toshikoshi festival (April and November 1)and (February 10 and 11) respectively; those worshipers are allowed across this bridge.

7. Tsukuba EXPO Center

9. Aeon Mall Tsukuba
