10 Beaches You Must Go in Valencia

Most tourists do not visit the beaches in Valencia but what they do not know is that the beaches here has a very fine sand and are not very crowded. The weather in Valencia makes it easier for you to have a fine tan even in Autumn or Spring.

1. Malvarrosa

The beach is very broad and is very warm during the beginning of June. You can also get a proper massage at the beachside as well. The beach is not crowded which makes it easier for you to relax and have a good time. This is the beach that is nearest to the city and easily reachable by public transport.

2. El Saler

El Saler or Playa de El Saler is located near Albufera Natural park. The beach has a lot of birds and valuable dune ridges. Along the beach is a wide area of pine forest which best for hiking’s and picnics. Windsurfing is also famous in this beach. The beach is easily reached by bus from the city centre.

3. Cullera

Cullera is pronounced as “Cuyaira”. The area is split into two parts, the town and the beach itself which is dominated by a small mountain called Munt de L’Or. English takeaway is rare on this beach but you will be able to see an abundance of local Spanish restaurants. If you are looking for a more peaceful place then this is the place for you. It is recommended to rent a flat and stay along the area for a week or so to enjoy your stay further.

4. Port Saplaya

Port Saplaya has a lot of comfort facilities and shopping would be easier near this beach compared to the others. They have this traditional drink called “Horchata” in which you should really have a taste upon visiting the beach. Alcampo shopping center and McDonald’s is just minutes aways too. There is also a holiday village which is an old sea port before.

5. Sagunto

Sagunto is a beach a bit further away from the city but is easily reachable by railway. The beach is about 20 minutes drive from Valencia airport too. The beach stretches about a mile and a half and is quite busy around Summer. This beach does not have enough facility but that is what makes it much more amazing because you get to enjoy nature itself.

6. Playa de San Juan

Playa de San Juan is a long beach that stretches for about two miles of very fine sand with all the facilities you would ever need. It has a lot of restaurants and bars. The Mediterranean cuisine and spectacular views are what people are keeping coming back for. During evenings, the nice sea breeze will absolutely make you fall in love.

7. Gandia

Gandia or “Playa Nord” as the locals call it, is a beach located in a quiet residential area near hotels and apartments. There are plenty of campsites along the area with 95,000 spaces for tourist and locals to enjoy their vacation. The beach has facilities for specific activities they offer such as pedal boating, playing volleyball and kite flying. There are also a lot of establishments and nightclubs along the beach so that you will really have a memorable stay.

8. Javea(Xabia)

Xabia or “Cala de La Granadella” as the locals call it, it is a beautiful beach with very fine sand and crystal blue waters that are surrounded by cliffs and forest landscapes. It has a rustic cove that is ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling. There are also hiking trails along the beach starting from the same cove. It is a pebbled beach with clear stones.

9. Denia

Denia is a beach that is great for dolphin and whale spotting as it is the coastal town of Valencia with the highest number of sightings. This beach is great for families and children. During the afternoon, the breeze gets up for surfers and kite surfers to practice their skills on riding the waves.

10. Playa Norte

Playa norte is a historical but moden beach in which you will have the castle of Papa Luna Benidicto XIII in the background and is the closest beach from town. The beach has apartments, hotels and houses for accommodation where you can relax after a day of enjoying the beach.
