Ventura is a town great for walks, shopping, cruising, fishing adventures but if you decide on going to the movies we made a list of seven movie theaters in the county. Of course, this is not the most popular activity so you should not expect too much but there are still some nice places you can go to.

1. Regency Santa Paula 7

Regency Santa Paula is a small theater which is about $2 cheaper than most of the major theaters in Ventura. They play the newest movies and have some daily food special which makes a good experience overall. The local crowd tends to watch horror movies and sometimes you could end up alone in the theater while watching some other genres, which is lovely. They have a friendly service. The parking lot outside is large.

2. Regency Theatres

If you are willing to wait a couple of months since the “big” movies come out, you can see them for a price no more and less than $3. A large drink, large popcorn, hotdog and two tickets will cost you $19.95. The theater shows matinees and there are no many people around during this time. This is the older theater so there are no reclining seats but it is still very nice.

Century RiverPark is a new, clean and relatively large theater. Probably the newest theater in Ventura county. There is a parking garage with loads of parking spots available. $8 movie tickets. The seats are comfortable and as there are 16 theaters there is practically a movie for everyone. The theater food is rather expensive. though. If you do reserved seating, you will have no problems with waiting in line and you will have some discounts like free popcorn. Reserved seating is the highest recommendation.

Paseo Camarillo Theaters

Paseo Camarillo is located next to Cronies. It is one of the smaller theaters. This is one of the older theaters so no reclining seats and the arm dividers between the seats are immobile. They usually play artsy movies which are on the plus side because you can not usually find this in the Ventura area. The ticket prices are reasonable and the food is fresh. The place needs to be updated a bit but it is still a unique place where you can watch top-notch foreign films.
