People have found sunny Ventura in California a good place to live for ten millennia. Perfectly positioned between Malibu and Santa Barbara, this jewel beside the Pacific Ocean was founded by Father Junipero Serra and named in memory of St. Bonaventure in 1782. The city is renowned for its great weather and pretty as a picture vistas. The fish they serve will always be fresh, and the price won’t make a hole in your pocket either. The menu is quite varied too, comprising of not just Japanese staples but other food items like clam miso and cod. The helpings are quite generous as well. This restaurant is quite cozy with its minimalistic décor and comfortable seating. The staffs are friendly and eager to please.

Since Ventura is a seaside town, it is bound to be partial to seafood. This is reflected in the number of seafood restaurants that the area has. Among the most frequented ones has to be the Jolly Oyster. It has a unique layout in that it comprises of a shack, a food truck and a number of conveniently located benches. The service is top class and one cannot just order the best sea food, but the best salads as well. The servings of the sea food are really generous. In so far as the oysters go, it is quite a DIY concept that is the norm here: though the staff would be happy to help one shuck the oysters.
