The infamous, one and only female whale shark is one of the attractions found in the aquarium. Be amazed at the gentle giant as it swims lap after lap in one of the biggest tanks you will ever see with the other fishes and other whale sharks. Yuchan also swims along with hammerhead sharks, Manta-rays, and others.

An aquarium wouldn’t be complete without any exhibits. The place is not only for your eyes but also for your brain. Be informed with the marine life and at the same time enjoy the different sea creatures that the aquarium has to offer. You can always opt to visit the “Aqua Gate” water tank, “Japan forest” or just wander along the aquarium.

Since it is one of the biggest aquariums, expect to see various kinds of marine animals. The aquarium caters fishes, amphibians, crabs, sea lions, jellyfish, turtles, sea otters, dolphins and more. You can find small and tiny jellyfish alongside with the huge ones. They look so amazing, especially in groups. There are also seahorses inside the tank.

5. Feeding

Witness how the sea creatures are being fed in the aquarium. The penguins are the highlight in feeding show as the aquarium keepers feed them while entertaining the guests. You will see how the animals chomp on their food like there’s no tomorrow. When visiting, make sure to check out the schedules first.

6. Winter Illumination

If you are traveling in Osaka during winter then, do not miss to witness the Kaiyukan Winter Illumination which usually happens from last week of November until the first week of March. The use of color and light to create the biggest illuminations of various objects will definitely leave you excited.

7. Gift shop, hotel, food, and Ferris wheel

There are gift shops where you can always buy souvenirs for your friends. If you want, you may also stay at the hotel here. If you’re hungry, there are food stalls readily available. Located next to the aquarium is the Tempozan Ferris Wheel which has colored lights that indicate the weather forecast for the following day.
