El Jadida is a city located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, in the province of El Jadida. The city has a population of 147,549 as of 2010 and the Portuguese Fortified City of Mazagan in El Jadida is considered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

1. Walk around Portuguese City

You can almost see the best of El Jadida by just walking around Portugues city. It is a Moroccan, Arabic town that is full of character and sights to see. You will see a lot of local markets, restaurants, cafes, fishermen selling their catch. A lot of locals will be in this area, especially on the weekends.

2. Surfing at Sidi Bouzid Beach (Plage de Sidi Bouzid)

Sidi Bouzid Beach is a great beach for surfing or just swimming around. It is a very nice resort a few kilometers from the city. You will find a lot of cafes and restaurants around the area too. If you want to just walk around then visiting to view the sunset is the best idea because it looks really magical in here.

3. Visit the Portuguese Cistern

If you want to really dig deeper and fall in love with the city then you should really learn a lot from its history and visit Portuguese Cistern would just do you good. The place is ancient but well-preserved. It is built on 1514 and is still magnificent up until now. The ceiling also has a reflection in the water which is a very nice view.

4. Haouzia Beach

This beach has a magnificent golden sand and is a great place for surfing and flyboarding too! The beach has a rough and dangerous sports so it is advisable that you want to take a dip make sure that you will stay just near the shore if you don’t know how to swim or you can just walk around.

5. Mosquee de la Cite Portugaise

Mosquee de la Cite Portugaise is a famous place for you to walk around and experience the ambiance of the old town. The architecture is really nice and it still has the same and original design that has been there for so long already. Make sure to bring your camera as there are a lot of photo opportunities here.

6. Theatre Afifi

Theatre Afifi is not your average theatre. It has a square in front of it for you to have a picnic or just walk around. Meanwhile, inside the theatre, you will be able to a glamorous interior design with a magnificent symphony orchestra and a lot of musical performances for you to attend to.

7. Stroll around Parc Hassan II

Parc Hassan II is more than just a park, it is also a well-kept garden that is just 5 minutes away from the beach. You will see a lot of students studying in this place as it is a very peaceful and relaxing place. It is much quieter than any other park in El Jadida and there are also a lot of great views for you to take pictures with.

8. Tazotas

Tazotas is another ancient architecture in El Jadida wherein the ambiance is somewhat kind of like from the movie “The Hobbit”. It is very interesting and I’m sure that once you get there you will be able to find a lot more information about the architecture.

9. Chateau Buisson dit Chateau Rouge

Chateau Buisson dit Chateau Rouge is a beautiful building with a colorful garden and square on the outside but then you will not be able to get in but you can still take pictures and wander around the surrounding areas and it is still very worth it.

El Jadida is a place with many activities to do and places to visit so if you want to do everything you can possibly do in this place then you should really book into a private tour which will enable you to experience everything El Jadida has to offer without wasting a minute of your stay.
