Lanzarote is a part of the Canary Islands and it is the third most populated island following Tenerife and Gran Canaria. The capital of Lanzarote is called Arrecife. 1. Timanfaya National Park
Timanfaya is the most well-known national park on Lanzarote. Due to the volcanic activity, this place is almost otherworldly. Timanfaya is a must see if you happen to be on the island, so don’t miss the opportunity.
2. Scuba diving

You will be able to hire a scuba diving instructor who will lead you throught the process step by step and you will be able to dive in just a couple of hours. The crystal clear water around the island is ideal for scuba diving and you will see what the fuss is all about.
3. Playa de Papagayo
Lanzarote is known for unique and interesting beaches and Playa de Papagayo is the perfect example. The golden sand is contrasted with black volcanic rocks and it is one of the kind place you will undoubtedly enjoy. You can climb the rocks if you want to have a better view of the surrounding nature, or stroll around and enjoy the fine sand beneath your feet.
4. Cueva de los Verdes
If you want to experience something completely different on your holiday, head out to Cueva de los Verdes. It is the volcanic cave system set beneath the ground that has its own unique eco system. The caves are really well lit and you will be able to enjoy all the details and amazing underground landscapes.

Jardin de Cactus is a real treat for everyone who loves nature, plants, or are simply interested in gardening. You will get a chance to see various species of cactus growing in a single place under the sun. Jardin de Cactus has an impressive collection of these plants and they create a magical atmosphere in combination with black rocks as a backdrop.
6. Old Town Harbor
If you want to stroll around and relax, or simply sit down and watch the boats roll in and out, Old Town Harbor in Puerto Del Carmen is a place for you. The harbor itself is very clean and you can even see the fishes in the water. Your kids can play in one of the surrounding parks while you sit on a nearby bench.
7. Playa Flamingo
Playa Flamingo is a sandy lagoon that is not very large but has everything you need for an amazing day at the beach. The water is clear and very pleasant. It is not too deep so it is very family friendly. Shops and restaurants are located near Playa Flamingo so you do have all the necessities right there within your reach.

Located in Nazaret, Lagomar Museum is carved into a cliff using the existing caves. It is a beautiful building that will take your breath away both by the design that was inspired by the Arabian mythology and the surrounding nature. Plus, you will get a beautiful view of the coastline from this hill.

Jameos Del Agua is located in Punta Mujeres and you can see some of the most peculiar animals right here at the pool that is the centerpiece of this attraction. Albino crabs are the most popular ones that is for sure. Besides the animals, you can see the nearby house with a small museum and try amazing muffins in an adjacent cafe.
10. Playa Dorada Beach
Continuing with excellent beaches on our list, the next one you simply have to visit is Playa Dorada Beach that is a part of Playa Blanca. Lanzarote attracts surfers from all around the world because of its climate and ideal wind conditions. You can surf here regardless of your previous surfing experience, because you can find a surfing instructor almost anywhere. Located in Teguise, Castillo de Santa Barbara is an interesting castle that houses a small museum dedicated to the pirates who ruled this area of the world back in the days. If you are curious to learn more about this part of Lanzarote’s history, this is the perfect place to do so.
14. Biosfera Plaza Shopping Centre
Biosfera Plaza Shopping Centre is a huge mall located in Puerto Del Carmen. It has a large selection of shops and if you want to do your shopping while on Lanzarote, this is the place to be. Additionally, it has a large play area where you can let your kids have fun while you browse around through the shops and boutiques.
15. Costa Teguise Aquapark
This aquapark is perfect for families who want to have plenty of fun together during their holiday. Costa Teguise has a large number of rides suitable for all ages and your entire day will be filled with activities if you decide to go there. The tickets are very affordable and you will be able to arrive to this aquapark either by car or by public transport.
