Lanzarote is a part of the Canary Islands and it is the third most populated island following Tenerife and Gran Canaria. The capital of Lanzarote is called Arrecife. The climate on the island is very warm all year round and it only rains during the winter season. Timanfaya is the most well-known national park on Lanzarote. Due to the volcanic activity, this place is almost otherworldly. You will be able to tour the landscape on camels and enjoy the view of black volcanic rocks and stones set against the clear and sunny sky. Timanfaya is a must see if you happen to be on the island, so don’t miss the opportunity.

2. Scuba diving

Canary Islands are perfect for scuba diving. If you never had an opportunity to engage in this acitivity, don’t worry. Jardin de Cactus has an impressive collection of these plants and they create a magical atmosphere in combination with black rocks as a backdrop.

If you want to stroll around and relax, or simply sit down and watch the boats roll in and out, Old Town Harbor in Puerto Del Carmen is a place for you. The harbor itself is very clean and you can even see the fishes in the water. Your kids can play in one of the surrounding parks while you sit on a nearby bench.

7. Playa Flamingo

Playa Flamingo is a sandy lagoon that is not very large but has everything you need for an amazing day at the beach. The water is clear and very pleasant. It is not too deep so it is very family friendly. Shops and restaurants are located near Playa Flamingo so you do have all the necessities right there within your reach.

Located in Nazaret, Lagomar Museum is carved into a cliff using the existing caves. It is a beautiful building that will take your breath away both by the design that was inspired by the Arabian mythology and the surrounding nature. Plus, you will get a beautiful view of the coastline from this hill.

Jameos Del Agua is located in Punta Mujeres and you can see some of the most peculiar animals right here at the pool that is the centerpiece of this attraction. Albino crabs are the most popular ones that is for sure. Besides the animals, you can see the nearby house with a small museum and try amazing muffins in an adjacent cafe.

15. Costa Teguise Aquapark

This aquapark is perfect for families who want to have plenty of fun together during their holiday. Costa Teguise has a large number of rides suitable for all ages and your entire day will be filled with activities if you decide to go there. The tickets are very affordable and you will be able to arrive to this aquapark either by car or by public transport.

Lanzarote is a gorgeous place surrounded by the ocean with amazing nature and truly divine beaches. So it comes as no surprise that one James Bond movie was shot right here on the island.
